The functioning of the eyes can be compared to a photographic camera. The light rays which fall on the cornea pass through the lens and eventually fall on the retina.<\/p>\n
The optic nerve carries this impulse to the brain and results in vision. Any opacity that happens in the lens restricts the free passage of the light rays into the eyes which in turn results in blurred and foggy vision. This ailment is referred to as a cataract and chronic opacity of the lens may lead to complete blindness of the person. At first, the cloudiness in your vision caused by a cataract may affect only a small part of the eye\u2019s lens and you may be unaware of any vision loss. As the cataract grows larger, it clouds more of your lens and distorts the light passing through the lens. This may lead to more noticeable symptoms.<\/p>\n
